Happy Birthday NAN x

Birthday wishes are on their way to Wales for my Nan who will be 91 years young on Thursday, I cannot believe its a whole year since her big 90 party !!

(I made her a lovely 8x8 scrapbook full of party photo's and didn't photograph a single page - one day I will borrow it back!!)

The card is made with the latest DoCrafts goody bag and really really simple to make. I love the Lincoln Linen Capsule Collection - the only added extra's  are the Happy Birthday message and the letters, cut with Sizzix dies, and embossed with pale gold embossing powder. I recycled some of the gems from the glitter flowers - I took them off to replace with the fab buttons and stuck them onto the border strip quick smart lol.

New look blog !!!

No cards today as I spent yesterday playing on the pc "designing" - in the loosest sense of the term - my new blog background and header.

I was too tired to craft (major busy week at work and split days off :-( big sigh!!) and  judging by the trouble I had trying to centre the blog header it was probably a good idea that I left my stash alone - I sooo hate wasting lovely pieces of card and ribbons !!

So, "wonky header" aside I quite like it - very impressed I got the writing inside it lol, and would love to hear what everyone thinks ....

Sending everyone who visits my little piece of cyber space lots of love at the beginning of what is sure to be yet another very busy week !!

Happy Birthday Shane x

Not only am I blessed with two beautiful daughters I also have a fabulous "nearly" son in law.

He bought me chocolates on the May bank holiday to make up for the fact that I was working with a lovely message attached .....oooooh he nearly made me cry it was so thoughtful

Here are the cards I have made this evening for his birthday on Sunday
I have used a Kanban Steampunk topper and 2 pieces of co-ordinating card stock with some ribbon to hide the join for this card. The back ground to the sentiment is a perfectly matching spellbinder die. I have embossed   6 Tim Holtz Sizzix cogs with fran-tage vintage gold embossing enamel and added 2 strips of extra sticky tape also embossed for added interest.

The second card was a much quicker make, using my Cricut I cut his name twice using the Wild card cartridge and shadowed the letters. I have used "happy Birthday" backing paper with 2 strips of glitter card stuck them together and hey presto job's a good 'un with a few well placed nail heads to finish.

Picture will follow tomorrow my phone is refusing to upload the pic's lol must be telling me its bed time

Sweet dreams x x

Sending lots of love your way x

A very good friend of mine just lost her sister -  here is the card I made for her ....... They are always so hard to get right....just hope I managed it for her
 xhugsx

I used a 6"x6" white linen card blank, (lightly blending antique linen distress ink around all the edges) a really nice size and texture to say enough - but not too much!!
I would have preferred a happier occasion to play with my new Fran-tage embossing enamels and fragments but special ladies deserve special cards so having decided to use this beautiful d├ęcoupage cross from Reddy Craft (Crafter's Companion) I set about making it unique ....just like them x

The picture doesn't pick it up well but I glazed the cross and flowers and then matted them on gun metal mirror card. I added a little antique gold Fran-tage embossing enamel and grey pearls.

I cut the jute fabric to size, frayed the edges and sprinkled antique gold, antique silver and clear embossing enamels onto it adding some taupe fragments and fine glass glitter - it goes everywhere but looks fabulous as it melts.
I did the same to the bottom left corner of the card blank and assembled it.
I embossed the sentiment in a much lighter gold glitter cosmic shimmer's embossing powder so it was much more subtle than the rest of the card and matted on the "wonk" with 2 more pearls.

Another friend is hand delivering my card tomorrow when she visits, (some of us are working as usual :-( !!) I do hate trusting them to Royal Mail .......x
