FCCB....Monday Challenge

It's time for another Monday challenge over at
FCCB!!
WOW where did the week go??
I only had one day off and I thought I was going to struggle to meet my deadline but I should have remembered that the Cricut will always come up trumps and not panicked lol !!

Challenge #122 S'more anyone? features a project with a camping theme (Tent, Bonfire, Canoe etc) and runs from 0800 Monday until 2400 Sunday (Mountain Time)

Please come and visit the Design Team HERE the project are, as always, fab x

For my project this week I have gone BIG!!
Big is beautiful and also easier to work with in a hurry....
I started with a 12"x12" yellow textured card for the back ground and added a green 11"x11" Elegant Edges cut slightly off set and "grunged" with distress inks Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo. I splodged some embossing powders down one side with the left overs from the fire...
To make the fire I repeated the 5" cut from Everyday Paper Dolls in all the colours, cut and embossed various bits and stuck it together with foam pads for lots of dimension.
I did the same with the girl and her accessories cutting at 8" and adding some faux stitching.
Due to the time factor I've created a fake scrapbook page!!
Fake 'cause it lacks photo's and journalling so I added the sun, fence and grass as compensation and to balance the empty spaces!!
The only non Cricut bits are the foam flowers
Easy peasy but so much fun.

Challenge #121 FCCB

The FCCB Challenge #121 this week is "Wedding Bliss"
Make a project for a special couple (Wedding, Anniversary)

Challenge #121 isn't my design week -BUT- I just loved it so much I NEEDED to play!!
It will run from 0800 Monday until 2400 Sunday (US Mountain Time)
Please come and visit the fantabulous FCCB design team and look at the beautiful creations.

Technically speaking, I've already published the card so please also look at Friday 20th July post for the Cricut cut details and more pics.

It always amazes no matter how many cards I make...
THAT
 an assortment of crafty ingredients....
...can became this
I made the tag card an envelope box using the Crafter's Companion Ultimate Pro using thick box card (11 and 1/2" square) and inked it in Antique Linen Distress Ink to match while flat.
They are really easy to make once the edges are lined up squarely and stuck with extra tacky tape.
I cut another Cricut Sampler tag to embellish the box and used some swirls cut on sticky back pearly paper for a subtle effect (Lyrical Lyric's Cartridge)
I love experimenting with the flowers and used Spellbinder Rose Dies to make this one.
I have used some stretchy lace, bobbled netting and ice white shimmer paper - sometimes the delicate fabrics cut better if placed between 2 sheets of paper - they are a brilliant way of using up the scraps - (I have a box full of cuts stored for when I need them just waiting to be inked)

Wedding Anniversary Commission

Today I have a commissioned Wedding Anniversary Card to share.

The card was made from 2 sheets of ice white shimmer card and 1 sheet of matching paper for the inserts. Everything has been tinted with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen.

I have cut the card into tag shapes at 20cm's (Shadow) with Cricut George and Basic Shapes and pleated ribbon around 2 edges. (Inserts cut at 20cm in paper).
I cut the frame from Cricut Essentials at 10cms. The swirls and letters at 3cms (I think) from Cricut Alphabet. The frame top and letters are embossed in white with a little silver sprinkled over, the swirls and "&" are embossed in silver.

Paper flowers will always be my first love !!
I spent ages dreaming the afternoon away making them from Spellbinder Bitty Blossoms, Roses and Large flower 3.
A few brads, pins and pearls, lots more ribbon and the jobs a good 'un lol!!
I am entering my card into the Cardztv challenge "Tag your it!!"

FCCB - New Monday Challenge !! x

 Happy Monday Ladies !!

This is a scheduled post and I'm hoping the sun is with us...(finally)...if not...(most likely in the UK)... then the fantastic creations by the FCCB Design Team are sure to brighten up our day.

Please come and visit us for our new challenge #120 "Sunny Days"
"Make a project using a yellow sun"

The challenge runs from 0800 Monday till 2400 Sunday - US Mountain Time (Still struggling to get my head round the time difference lol !!)
My sun has got his "glasses" on!!
He was cut using the Simply Charmed Cartridge at 6" and layered up using Pinflair glue gel to give him some definition and depth. He is attached to the finished card using a Docrafts spring to make him wobble.
I cut an 8" rectangle frame using the Elegant Edges cartridge, stuck it on the front of a double sided piece of  lilac/purple A4 card and then made the fold. Because the back is thinner than the front,  I evened the card blank up with various strips of matching paper-to keep it stable as well as pretty!!
I used a "border cut" to match the front at 1" and "fit to page". The strips of paper are cut using a postage stamp blade on my trimmer.
I cut some 1" baby sun's, added buttons and some purple twine to embellish along with some star gems.
The back is as jazzy as the front lol !! The papers are part of a Creative Imaginations Scrapbook kit.

Sunny wishes for a fantastic week which ever part of the world you are visiting from...

Rock Chick Birthday !! x

I've had a mooch round the challenge blog's for a bit of inspiration this evening and come up with this rock chick birthday card !!
I used the layout from the current fortnightly Sketch N Stash challenge.

The ladies and gentleman like to hear about the new/neglected stash used in the projects for their challenges. Very neglected is the rock chick herself - I've had her for months and she has never been used. Its not strictly "stash" but my new expression has been used (of course lol !!) and I guess the Stampendous embossing glitter is a recent purchase too.
I have stamped and cut out the lovely lady, coloured her with Promarkers,  and matted her onto a 4" doily cut from Cricut Elegant Edges Cartridge, with another 6" cut behind her. I have used George and Basic shapes to help with the matting and layering. (Cricut Essentials = 2" sentiment).
I have used Stampendous Lilac Embossing Tinsel and Clear Deep Embossing Power  to add interest and some Craftwork Cards Black Candi  and gems to bling her up with a little bit of lace and ribbon.
I am also entering the Rock Chick into Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Challenge  their current challenge is "Monocramatic" hence the Purple and Black colour scheme.

New Toy !! x

I have spent all week working very hard ... (Just like everybody else lol !!) ... My reward for such angelic behaviour ?? ...
More dancing round the kitchen...
IS
A brand new, all singing, all dancing, Cricut Expression 2 !!
I am so ridiculously happy with my new toy, can you tell ??
Here I have half a dozen 2" cup cakes from my new Cricut Alphabet Cartridge, sat on 3 cake stands (all 6" and then cut down to keep the middles the same size) from Straight from the Nest to make the stand and a 7" scalloped square from  Elegant Edges. I've stuck a bit of glitter glue on as icing BUT really - its all about the shapes !!

First FCCB DT card !! x

Happy Independence Day, for the 4th of July, to all the lovely ladies at FCCB...
...Challenge #118 running from 0800 today until 2400 on Sunday (US Mountain Time)
 is
Kaboom! Fireworks Celebration
"Make a project with a firework, sparkler, or other big "boom" project"

Please join us at Fantabulous Cricut to see the wonderful Design Team's Inspirational projects and enter the fun !!
I can't wait to visit all the entrants blog's and help choose the TOP 5!!
So, breaking with US tradition and the red, white and blue colours, my first DT card depicts the "stars and stripes" but I have opted for zingy citrus colours in celebration of my 4th of July Graduation, from the University of Nottingham (School of Nursing), 10 years ago.
I celebrate my own personal journey to independence on this day every year...but that's another story for another day !!!
I have used Cricut Wild Card Cartridge for the rockets and the group of stars.
Lyrical Letters for the Hooray, celebrate, stars, squiggle and fireworks.
Thinking outside the box a little, the Catherine Wheel is a flower stamen from the Straight from the Nest cartridge (lol) with the squiggle on top!!
The Cricut cuts are mostly glued using Crafter's Companion Spray glue to keep the acetate as neat on the back as it is on the front. (The rockets on "the back of the back of the acetate"-say that quickly- are glued with Pinflair Glue Gel behind the Hurray wording)
The card stock is all Basil Basics, which cuts beautifully, and the stripy vellum and ribbons are from my local craft shop.
I've used some glitter, a button and star gems for a little bit of glitz and defined the stars with a green glitter pen.
