Monday is challenge day at FCCB !!

This weeks FCCB challenge is about celebrating our favourite Summer memories so appropriate as the UK appears to be bypassing Autumn and heading straight for Winter !!
It's cold, dark and miserable as I sit here writing this scheduled post.
Anyways, less whining ... more crafting ...

Challenge # 129
Make a project that reminds you of summer ...
Our challenge runs from 0800 Monday until 2400 Sunday US Mountain time

As always please drop by and visit the DT here, amazing projects ladies x

I always think of strawberry picking when I think of fabulous summer afternoons and there is nothing nicer than a bowl of strawberries, sugar and cream ... yumm !!
I had a matting and layering moment with this one using some pink freebie papers and red Papermania textured card.
I used  Cricut Simply Charmed Cartridge and cut the bowl at 10cms.
The elements all re size automatically and I cut the strawberries in 2 slightly different reds and embossed some of them for added definition.
I also embossed the shine on the bowl and two the green stalks.

I cut the shadow outline in white and embossed it with Stampendous Shabby pink powder.
I used a mixture of more Shabby pink powder and Perfect pearls to decorate, with some red gems.
The letters are cut from Lyrical Letters and at a mere 5mm height they still cut perfectly - I've  used a Quickie glue pen to stick them down.
The bowl has some sparkly trim to finish.

Roll on summer .... lol

Christening Cards x2

Today I am sharing 2 christening cards, made for brothers being christened together. I really struggled to find something suitable as they are little boys, not babies !!

I walked round and round The Range for an hour, not hard to do normally anyway I know, racking my tiny brain cell  and eventually decided on Tatty Ted ready made topper's and matching 12x12 paper's.
I cut one of the papers slightly smaller than the 5x7 card blank for the insert, using a postage stamp style blade on my trimmer, added a scallop oval and a Tatty Ted sticker.
I took the chosen backing paper round the back for added interest with a strip of contrasting paper and another sticker.
The fronts have a large scalloped oval  cut on Cricut George and Basic Shapes with another behind using the Shadow key.
I used Cricut Lyrical Letters at 15mm and 10mm for the letters with some matted strips of paper.
They are very simple, with just a few gems for embellishment but quite cute.

Just for fun I am entering them into the following challenges:
One Stop Craft Challenge - No Floral Embellishments
Pink Gem Designs - Its a Boy Thing
Allsorts - Layer's
Carisma Cardz Challenges - Seeing Double

Venetian Spellbinders !!!!! Thank you card x

My new Spellbinder Venetian Accents and Motifs arrived yesterday morning !!
Instant love !!
They have been on pre-order, from Oyster Stamps, since July and the wait has felt like a very very long one lol (Now I remember what it is like for little ones counting down to Christmas)
I'm looking forward to a cruise round blog land as I'm sure there are lots of other happy peeps around in cyber space too !!

I had literally just sat down to decide on my theme for a thank you card I wanted to make when "posty" stopped by ......
..... Oh sooo pretty !! .....
..... Theme oh sooo sorted !! .....

I have used a Hunkydory Kit and combined it with the Venetian dies.
Enough sneaky peeks  ???

Here is the whole card...
I used the papers from the kit for the background, the border and round motif. Gold and black patterned card for the label  and 3 motifs and lastly the mask and swirl motif cut from dull gold card.
I used a little bit of  sparkly black embossing  powder and some black glitter to bring the elements together with the huge feather with matching ribbon again from the kit.
I finished it off with lots of gems and pearls, love that mask!!

I have entered my card into the following challenges
Diva's by Design - Friendship
My Mums Craft Shop - Anything Goes
The Ribbon Girl - Just Add Pearls
PaperTake Weekly - Anything Goes

FCCB Challenge 127 On The Job

Happy Monday Morning Ladies
Well it's back to work for me after a much needed week off, my card for the FCCB challenge this week is a Good Luck/Leaving card I hope it isn't a premonition of one of our fab team leaving lol...

Challenge #127
ON THE JOB
Create a project using an occupational character
Our challenge runs from 0800 today until 2400 Sunday night (US Mountain Time)
As always, please drop in and have a look at the inspiration provided by the amazing DT, HERE

I folded a 12x12 textured Bassil Basics card in half  and cut a base 5mm smaller all round in white card and distressed it using Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress ink and splodged it with my new Antique Linen dabber. I stuck three pieces of twine on in a random pattern and stuck it down with Pin flair for depth.

Using George and Basic shapes I cut three squares at 10cm and 2x7cm  and repeated with the shadow function in 2 co-ordinating pieces of blue card.
All the "nurse" bits were cut on Every Day Paper Dolls please excuse the huge injections it really is the psychiatric nurses humour in me escaping but I did manage to stop myself adding the coffee mug even if the clip board did sneak in !!
I cut the letters with Cricut Alphabet and added doodling ... not a gem or flower in sight !!
The two large syringes and plaster were clear embossed.
I kinda like the plain and simple just for a change !!
