Anything Goes Challenge "Out with the Girls" x

Welcome to my post for the
ANYTHING GOES CHALLENGE BLOG
This week we are

"Out with the Girls"

When my post goes live I too will be getting ready to go "out with the girls" looking forward to enjoying a very posh lunch and lots to drink in the Bail Gate home to Lincoln's amazing cathedral and stunning castle, I am so lucky to live so near such a beautiful city!!

I used the digi image "GillandCarley" by Sherri Baldy for my card, they are just so cute all dressed up for a big night out !!
The background paper is BoBunny purchased from Lynn's on line shop THE CRAFT DEN

I used my (rusty) Promarkers to colour the girls and them softened the edges of the spellbinders die cut with Distress Ink

I added a big bow, 3 pins, 3 flowers and a large gem for embellishment along with a cute "Happy Birthday" ribbon banner and some little bits of washi tape
The letters used for the name are DoCrafts

Please pop over to the Anything Goes Challenge blog and say hello
The challenge will run for 4 weeks to enable the DT to recharge their batteries in anticipation of some fantastic new challenges

ABC, 123 PROJECT

It was one of those WHOOOPS moments when my daughter reminded me she had asked for a card for her nephew over two weeks ago !! !! !!
I had 2 hours to get it made and dry for his party !! !! !!
The Cricut will always come to the rescue no stressing required !! !! !!
~SO~
I cut a large number 5 and the letters for little Brett's name on white card stock with the Cricut Artiste Cartridge and distressed them with Faded Jeans.
I cut the Happy Birthday from the same cartridge
I used some blue Co-ordinations card stock and distressed it with my sanding block and used some more Faded Jeans distress ink on the white card at the bottom, I added a red mirri strip to hide the join, finishing off with some blue and red gems.
EASY !!
PHEW !! !! !!

Sweetdreams Lovely Lady x

I rarely share my personal life on my blog but here is a card first seen on one my very first blog posts nearly two years ago....

It was made for my Nan on her 90th Birthday 3 years ago....

That special lady went to join my Grandad up in heaven this weekend, so I will sadly not be joining my DT sisters for the next few weeks but will be with them all in spirit during the Vinyl Cricut Crawl next Monday and back with Anything Goes on the 24th September.

WOW !!!!
Pop over to FCCB for more details!!

Back to this weeks challenge and my own little card

I used a 6x6" white card blank added matt's and layers in black, yellow and real music paper roughing up the edges a little with my Tim Holtz Distress tool, I accidentally ripped the fragile music sheet so I did it a bit more and made it a feature lol !!

I layered more black and yellow card and to add some interest stuck some little pieces of washi tape and Card Candi onto it before adding my musical note cut from the Lyrical Letters cartridge. I used the Cricut Craft Room to remove the little cut out bits that should have been there.

The flower is cut from Artiste cartridge and the flourish is Cricut Essentials

Please come and join us over at FCCB with your own project, don't forget to name the Cricut Cartridge you use to be in with a chance of a prize and top five place

Please do go and visit, as ever they have some stunning projects, all with a camping theme!!

I couldn't not share something so here is the 70th Birthday card commission I made a couple of weeks ago.

Anything Goes Blog Challenge #99 By the Sea

Happy Tuesday !!
I have another sea side theme card to share today, this time its for this fortnight's Anything Goes Challenge
I was going to do clean and simple but the card had other ideas lol !!

First off I couldn't get the layers straight (too lazy to go find a new blade) and then I realised the card wasn't quite long enough to space them out !!
Not to be defeated I went for cheesecloth and netty fabric and some old chain kept for many a year from my daughters pretty belt clip once a big favourite of her's- she wouldn't thank me for it now!! and plonked it all on together

I cut all the shapes with Cricut Craft Room using the current freebie "Pirates and Mermaids" with some beautiful Jewel coloured card stock

I used Distress Ink to take the white off the card stock

and finished it off with some cute embellishments

I hope you can find time to pop over to the
to visit the DT and see their fabulous creations and then join in the fun with your own project.
The challenge is open for 2 weeks
Please show your support by visiting Lynne's shop in Sheffield THE CRAFT DEN if you are lucky enough to be in the area

FCCB Challenge #172 Make a Splash

Cricut meet's Digi Stamps for this weeks challenge over at FCCB !!
We were all given the choice of 5 digi stamps from our sponsor this week
to play with
I decided to use "Mermaid Ellie"
Here she is ....
...Super cute !!
I used my pro-markers to colour Mermaid Ellie after I'd chosen the papers I wanted to use namely Pretty Please by My Minds Eye and some printed paper from the Paper Mania Capsule Collection CD ROM.

I cut a frame form the Elegant Edges Cartridge, stuck Ellie behind it and the used some Frantage embossing powders. I drew faux stitches just to add some interest around the frame.

I put some Cheese Cloth under and around the left side of the frame with some Hessian and then added these fantastic shells and little star fish

Please pop over to FCCB and check out the DT creations, make your own project using at least one Cricut cut and join in the fun...
the challenge is open until 1900 Sunday
you might also want to pay a visit to the Paper Nest Store and Blog
Well ...
I'm off to finish a 70th Birthday card commission, hopefully I'll be back to show it off tomorrow ...

Tuesday 30 July 2013

Happy Tuesday !!

The main picture is terrible - huge apologies but the light was gone by the time I finished last night

Coffee/Food
Please come and check out the DT cards and projects they are amazing as ever !!
You have 2 weeks if you would like to come and join us with your own project, we love cruising around cyber space and make sure to visit everyone who comes to play !!

I used Ashlyn's Alphabet Cricut Cartridge to cut the coffee pot and coffee cup

The paper's are Docrafts capsule collection in linen which co ordinates with the bows.
I added some stamped coffee stains, used Frantage embossing powders and some lace and flowers to decorate

I love this stamp from Lili of the Valley

The friendship word is a wooden embellishment covered in gold frantage embossing powder

Many of the products used in my cards can be purchased from Lynn's shop The Craft Den in Sheffield,  she also does mail order and her telephone number can be found on my side bar
