Mother's Day x First of 3 lol !!

Well, I went from being off work sick to acting ward manager in the blink of an eye and so my Mothers Day cards have had to be easy peasy super simples lol especially as I thought it was next Sunday not tomorrow !!

Here is the first one for my own Mum it should be safely in Wales by now x finger's crossed x

I used a beautiful Kanban topper, matted it onto silver mirror card, added Cheery Lynn butterflies, Cricut Artiste letters and some pearls and job done !!

I put more pearls on the middle flower

I decorated the middle with mirror card punched down one side (Martha Stewart Punch) another Kanban topper and more Artiste letters as my Mum insists it is "Mothering Sunday" bless her.
That's the beauty of hand made cards  isn't it we can have them just the way we want them !!
We have spent hours over the years trying to find shop cards that are both nice and for Mothering Sunday ... ... not easy !!
Back later with the next one's for both my daughters boyfriends Mum's

Anything Goes Challenge 87 "Very Manly"

Happy Tuesday !!
Welcome to the start of another fortnightly challenge over at the

We have been challenged to make a
"VERY MANLY" card
for Challenge 87

My daughters have asked me to make cards for their Dad's Birthday so I have been able to combine real life and my DT card this time around

Whilst I'm on rest and recuperation I've been having a slow and gentle crafty clean up and came across some pretty Kanban foiled cards long forgotten in a plastic storage box and this lovely Zebra die cut topper

It's not my bad photography skills this time the topper is slightly blurred lol!!

I used a black A5 card for the base and cut some black glossy card, silver mirror card and Zebra tissue paper rectangles using the new soon to be released Spellbinder 5x7 card creator dies

I used  antique gold and antique silver Fran-tage embossing powders and Stampendous Silver embossing powder randomly on  all the elements to bring them together and stuck them down with Cosmic Shimmer glue

*Top Tip*
I used a tiny piece of a freebie blending foam pulling out bits of it to make a random pattern and "blodged" it here and there with Versamark ink from a refill bottle, this means the Fran-tage can still be heated from the top of the card and prevents the beautiful chucks from blowing away

I used Sizzix dies and my big shot for the happy birthday and "DAD" letters

Goodness only knows where the Zebra paper came from but I really enjoyed using up some forgotten treasures to make room for some more of  the lovely goodies available from Lynne over at the Craft Den

PS...The tiny photo corners are from the Tim Holtz Sizzix range and are designed to fit the ATC movers and shapers die. I Fran-taged a piece of black card BEFORE I cut them out !!

You have two weeks to make and share your own "Very Manly" card if you'd like to join me and the amazing design team over at the Anything Goes Challenge Blog. We will be around to see all your creations leaving crafty comments everywhere lol !!

FCCB Challenge #145 Sound of Music

Happy Monday !!

Today over at FCCB our challenge is
THE SOUND OF MUSIC
The challenge runs from 0800 Monday until 2400 Sunday, please hop over to FCCB and see all the DT projects and add your own to join in the fun.

My card was made after a really stressful day at work yesterday crafting really is the best therapy ever!!

I have used some of my fabby new supplies from The Craft Den

The base of my card is an 8x8 white card blank with Pixie Glenn Prima paper distressed and inked.
I have finally purchased a Tim Holtz distressing tool it's fab.
I then cut a square of mini patterned paper  from the pack and matted it with pink pearl card, repeated the distressing and pink and blue chalk inking and stuck it down with Pinflair glue gel after adding the pink spider web lace.
All my Cricut cuts are from Lyrical Letter's, I love how the two swirls have made hearts - total accident lol.
I have decorated the cuts with Cosmic Shimmer Pearl Glue really nice for a change from gems and pearls.
The top left flowers have white flower soft and glitter sprinked on them and the bottom has Glossy accents picking out the tea cup.
Oh, nearly forgot I stamped a Kanban music stamp in the background too and sparkled it up with cosmic shimmer powder!!
Looking forward to 3 days off next week and my daughters 22nd birthday, crafty times ahead!!

Happy Birthday Trish x

Here I have a Kanban card made for my daughters fiancée's mum for her 50th Birthday, we went to her Birthday party last night and a good night was had by all.

I used a sketch from My Sweet Stop with the intention of entering the card into last weeks Saturday Challenge but was so busy making decorations for the party I totally forgot to do it until now !!

I do still have time to enter it into A Gem of a Challenge "Lavender and Lace" the challenge runs until Jan 4th 2013....just as well really lol !!

I had to cover the topper as I had the clock angle completely wrong, I used Cricut Artiste for the numbers and letters.

The flowers and lace came from The Ribbon Girl ....so pretty.

Happy Birthday Jo x

I have just spent a very happy afternoon making my friends birthday card and a box for her birthday present.
They are made with a new Kanban kit and my trusty Cricut ...
... match made in heaven x
I started with a piece of A4 red Kanban card stock folded and scored slightly smaller on 1 side.
I then used 2 patterned cards and added lace to hide the join.
The topper and butterfly are from the kit with some red gems added.
I cut "celebrate" and the doily and shadow from the Straight from the Nest Cartridge.
The box from more Kanban card with Tags Bags Boxes and More 2 Cartridge - A4 card cut at fit to page.
The tags and sentiment are also Tags Bags Boxes and More 2
Lastly JO is cut with Cricut Alphabet font 1
I added a little bit of gold embossing and a Barbara Grey stamp to the inside of the card instead of an insert and to the red cut on the card.
I hope she likes it ...
