80th Birthday Card x2

Here's my second 80th commission card ... different as chalk and cheese ?? !! ??
I got out my Promarkers (covered in dust !! - not really HONEST lol !!!)  but they haven't seen the light of day for a while and I suddenly realised I have sooo missed colouring ...
... but that must mean my stress levels are low which is good for my heart at least !!
This little lady is a Sarah Kay I love her !!
I made my card using a vintage frame stepper card  from Which card?
They are wonderful and so easy to make up.
I have used Tim Holtz Tea dye and Vintage Photo distress inks to soften the stark whiteness of the card and lace along with some peachy vintage papers.
Even the swirls come in the card kit and I have Frantaged them along with the frame.

The scalloped edge of the frame is decorated with WOC and other purchased flowers (gasp !! not a single hand made flower here except the tiny punched ones !!), with some tiny punched butterflies and dragon flies hiding here and there.
I made a beaded pin and added some pearls to finish.

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
The Cutie Pie Challenge Blog - Frames and Borders

80th Birthday Commission Card

There is only one thing harder than making a card for someone you don't know and that's making 2 cards for the same person !!
Hopefully they will be totally different, here's the first one ......

I went back to a kit today this is Kanban's Bella Fiori...
I made the insert with two sheets of A4 paper (off set to each other) to make it look lacy using a Martha Stewart punch and inked it with Tim Holtz Dusty Concord distress ink.
I cut the edge off the front of the A5 card and then stuck a border strip from the kit onto it.
The next layer is thin white card stock again distressed and the third is foiled card stock with a pretty edge. (Cut on my trimmer).
The topper is stuck with foam pads right against the folded edge with some lilac spider web fabric ruched behind it, and some subtle distressed ink round the edges.
The flowers are cut on my rose Spellbinders dies in different scraps of fabrics and net.
I am in love with my new Ebay bargin butterflies-15 for £2.50
To finish I added some matching gems and ribbon ... simples lol ...
PS...The letters and numbers are Cricut Lyrical Letters Cartridge covered with Lilac Stampendous Glitter embossing powder !!

AND
there will be a Grand Prize up for grabs at FCCB for one participant that submits a "Back to School" project at FCCB!

What a fun start to the week !!

For my project I decided to buy some real life note books and use my Cricut to make them fun to take to school.

My note books were a bargain at a pound for 6 in 3 different sizes...

...but of course at that price they are a bit cheap and flimsy looking...so I started with a collection of purple and pink papers and covered each book...

...looking better already me thinks !!

To fit with the theme of Back to School I chose the Simply Charmed Cartridge because I just love the super cute faces bringing the characters in it to life.

Using my Cricut Expression 2 makes the decorating really easy to do ...
I cut the cute scissors and glue bottle at 10cm with all the elements resized in proportion automatically for me, stuck them on with Pinflair glue gel (silicone style but with no silicone or smell)  and then  added 3 Cricut Sampler scalloped tags to make some cute dividers and used Cricut Alphabet cut on self adhesive pearl papers to make all the letters.
I then made a Tags, Bags Boxes and more 2 envelope cut at fit to page to create a "secrets" envelope to store all the fabulous things kids love to keep.

I used the last of my shiny gem stars to decorate and doodled the afternoon away.

You can see the doodling a little better here...

...Its a brilliant way of bringing the project together without it becoming too busy, and makes the characters pop off the page.
I used the crayon and pencil, again, from Simply Charmed for the smaller jotters and I think the tiny one is my favourite !!

SO
Now it's your turn! Let's see your BACK TO SCHOOL projects! Make sure you include a Cricut Cut somewhere on your project !!
Next stop...the awesome SHEILA, please go and see what she has in store for you today at her blog SHELOVESHOES
And if you want to play along, please link up your project to FCCB's Fantabulous Cricut Crawl post to be entered into the contest !!
The DT will, as ever, be visiting all your blogs, ooing and arring, gaining inspiration and leaving lots of comments !! !!

Happy Crawling !!

Adoption Commission Card

This is the first adoption card that I've ever been asked to make...such a special arrival!!
Cricut Sampler Cartridge and Nit Wit papers with you guessed it Spellbinder flowers
Nothing if not consistent I guess !!
No ink on this one I wanted it clean and tidy, my new trick is blobs of glossy accents making the flowers look fresh and dewy
What a beautiful name for a baby girl with a very special mummy and daddy to be !! x x

Wedding Card Commission

Today I am sharing a wedding commission card, as ever, my Cricut  and Spellbinder die flowers take centre stage.
I have used Antique Linen distress Ink and Shimmer card to make this not quite all white card - I was reliably informed the colour scheme was gold so I added a little Stampendous white and gold embossing powder and used gold gems.
I cut feathers instead of leaves to go with the Doves.
No time to chatter I have an adoption commission to make, back later !!

Sneaky Peek !! x

Over at FCCB the DT are having a card swap.
Yet again I have made my deadline by the skin of my teeth but my card is finally winging it's way across the pond !!
I will share the rest when its safely received by its new owner !!
After a craft deprived week its fabulous to have a few days off - all work and no play is making me feel very sad !! I made up for it though yesterday spending the day at the spa with yummy food and  lots of cocktails in the evening.
I have another card to share tomorrow sweetdreams x x

Happy Monday!!
Over at FCCB this week we are celebrating the Olympics and what a fabulous event it has been!!

|Challenge #124
"OLYMPIC'S"
(Sports theme)

As ever please come and see the fabulous DT projects at FCCB....
The Challenge runs from 0800 Monday until 2400 Sunday (Mountain Time)

Not having been blessed with a single sporty bone in my body but having thoroughly enjoyed watching the happy smiling faces of TEAM GB, and all the teams from around our world celebrating their great achievements, I made a cheerleader to show my support from the sofa !!
She is a massive 11.50" tall and has been stood cheering our teams on by the TV during the event.
Sadly the photo is not the best but she has lace on her dress and glitter pom poms, along with lots of ribbon bows and embossed trainer's.
All the cuts are from Everyday Paper Dolls.
I hope everyone enjoyed the closing ceremony yesterday-now music and lots of noise I CAN identify with !!
I loved it!!

PS
My baby brother WAS blessed with lots of sporty bones and today starts his trip from Lands end to John O'Groats in aid of Alzheimer's Research with his friends Peter and Katie.
I will be changing my cheerleaders Dress to Team LEJOG and she will cheering from my Mum and Dad's car when they do their stint as the "roadies" later in the ride.
