I have been so busy at work this week I have had no spare time to play, it makes me sad : ( but nothing compares to my niece Sophie's text asking for some googly eyes for a fundraising project making pebble pets to raise money for JAMIE, a little boy at her school with cancer, I quote "he needs £250,000 to live"
OMG bless them and their tiny hearts !!

Needless to say lots of googly eyes are on their way to York this morning along with this little card to help make them smile x x x

Happy Birthday Ann x

April Birthday number three marks my sister Ann's tomorrow, I have used Webster's papers for a bright fresh spring like theme with some lace, velvet ribbon and antique linen distress ink to tie it all together.

The letter's are Papermania's promarkered green.

For the middle section I cut a lace border frame onto  blue paper on my Cricut ( for both the front and back) with the Elegant Edges cartridge. I then cut the centre out with a spellbinder label die and stuck the middle onto the the 3rd side of the card.

I then made the hatpin and cut Spellbinder roses and leaves to decortate on both sides.

The frog charm is tied with string onto a small spellbinder label in silver and the smallest die created the cameo effect. There is a Marianne design corner there too.

The back is finished with a little corner pocket to keep  a gift card safe.

Happy Birthday Tim x x x

April is full of family birthdays and a wonderful reason to spend hours happily creating !!

Today it is my brother's birthday and for him I choose the Hayes Manual Camper van by Kanban.

I used an 8x8 square card blank, covered it in this lovely gold paper (cheap and cheerful with no brand label) and chopped off the front open edge - about 2" I think. I matted the topper onto core'dinations brown card, distressed it a little and used foam pads for some depth.

I used a Martha Stewart punch to add interest and some Anita's Glitterations stickers in gold.
"Tim" gold letters completed the front but the camera has failed to bring out the embellishments - lol - next goal a photography lesson !!

For the inside I stuck a strip of camper van card to the right
exposed edge matt, layered the greeting topper and added more punched border and glitterations stickers (I hate the word peel off !! YUK !!)

I stamped Kanban cogs around some white card matted onto gold paper and added a stamped sentiment and Tims's name.

The little envelope is cut on Cricut Wild Card Cartridge and is hiding pennies from heaven aka my very hard earned cash (giggling).

Happy Birthday Em x x x

Well, 1 happy 17 year old is now the proud owner of the smallest Pandora bracelet I have ever seen lol she will fill it in no time at all !!

Here are a few of her handmade tags ...

Sizzix "Bow" Bigz die - one of my favorite dies it means I can always have a matching bow whatever the occasion.

Sizzix "Happy Birthday" die.

Cricut "George and Basic Shapes" cartridge has been used for the tags in different sizes, the flowers, hearts and letters. A Martha Stewart lace punch has been used to create a sleeve round the tissue paper.

Another Sizzix "Happy Birthday" and Spellbinder Bitty Blossoms (My present to me Bitty Blossoms = Beautiful )

Lace punch again , curling ribbon and a few gems for added sparkle.

My "baby" is nearly 17 ...

Tomorrow my "baby" will be 17 !! Oh my how time flies .......Her card is finished and I will make the tags for her presents later.
I have made the card from a craftsuprint download, added Kanban card from a kit purchases eons ago and glammed it with glitter, gems and pearls. Emma was really taken by a twisted easel card she saw on TV the other day so I hope she likes this one as much.

This is the "other" Mother's Day card I made for daughter JoJo's "nearly" mother in law. Thought I should get into the habit of cyber recording all my personal cards makes so everyone gets something totally different next year lol how's that for a brain wave after 2 night shifts ? ?  ...... Just entering my 22nd sleep deprived  hour .... yawn bed time sooon for me !! x

Tuesday, 3 April 2012

My eldest daughter JoJo needed what she called a "quirky" birthday card big enough for her work colleagues to sign for their bosses 30th birthday.

Not only is it quirky it goes on and on and on .........

I have fallen in love with the urban stamps on the papermania capsule collection DVD and also the overlays. It was really easy to put together with a little help from Cricut's Elegant Edges cartridge and a "foldies card"

JoJo said no flowers :( but i managed to sneak four paper ones in, hidden with blue jeans distress ink lol x
Do you think she will notice ??

Noooo ....... She will be too busy worrying about the fact she has to cut and tie the bow on the front once they have all written in it before it goes in the box !! love it !!

Today I have thank you cards for my daughter Emma to give to her college tutors. They are a bit out of my comfort zone but I really enjoyed making them.

I used 2 6x6 card blanks to create the "envelope" style cards, covered them in  new papermania papers and edged them with lace.

I added some embossed stamp images in white from the same range

and some subtle mica spray in gold, peach and copper with some tea dye distress ink here and there

Emma wrote her messages in a downloaded post card from the new papermania capsule collection DVD and we embossed them for prosperity on the backed pull out card.

I can't resist flowers so one popped up like magic just because I can lol x
